Happy Halloween! Muah ha ha ha

If you are currently living in the U.S. or are very familiar with American culture, you may be hearing Happy Halloween all over the place. Today, October 31, is a holiday in the U.S. characterized by pranks, candy, parties, having fun with friends, and dressing up as your favorite character for a day. This day is for children and adults alike, but mainly for the kids. Did I mention CANDY???? Lots of CANDY!!!!!

However, have you ever wandered about the origins of this holiday? Some say it's a religious holiday that has its roots in evil and other's see it as a commercialized day that is all about having fun. So which one is it? Well look no further. Toyita's Language Corner has you covered. Check out this month's free listening practice resource. This is a quick video from the History Channel about the origins of Halloween and how it has become what it is today.

Once you have watched the video, check out the quick comprehension quiz to check your understanding and then go out on the town for a little trick-or-treating with your family and friends.

HAVE A SAFE AND FUN HALLOWEEN!!!!!
